“I don’t get s*** out of that” De’Aaron Fox Rejects Notion That Engaging in Postgame Media Equals Leadership

The Sacramento Kings are occupying the seventh position in the Western Conference and in the season they are 42-30. The Kings were recently defeated by the Dallas Mavericks with a final score of 96-132. The Mavericks are sixth in the Western Conference and for the season, they are 43-29.

During the press conference, the All-Star guard of the Kings, De’Aaron Fox, was asked if his willingness to lead the media session was a sign of his taking leadership, to which Fox replied clearly and concisely.

He mentioned, "I don"t get shit out of that. I got nothing out of that. They ask me, I do it. They [the rest of the team] don"t give a f*** if I come here and talk, I"ll tell you that."

He continued further, "Michael [Kings spokesperson] asked me, I do it. If Michael or Shannon asked me I’d do it. I get no joy in this after a win or a loss, my team doesn"t care if I come up here in a blowout win or a blowout loss."

Fox in the game scored 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 turnovers and his average is 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. He was selected by the Kings in the 2017 NBA Draft and has been with the squad since.
