The NFL has announced that two upcoming season games will be exclusively streamed on sites Peacock and Amazon and not everyone is thrilled about it.
The NFL’s opening game of the season will feature the Philadelphia Eagles at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo on September 6 and will be shown on Peacock. The Eagles opponent is yet to be named but the game, which is set to be played on a Friday night, is guaranteed to draw big ratings.
Well-known sports media personality Chris “Mad Dog” Russo went on one of his legendary rants, this time going after the NFL and Peacock. Russo was unhappy that in order watch the Philadelphia Eagles in action, many fans will have to subscribe to a new streaming site.
“It’s hard to get Peacock, I don’t want to get Peacock!” Don’t put the Eagles 9,000 miles away and then put them on a cable thing on Peacock, which you’ve got to subscribe to so NBC can make more money,” said Russo on ESPN.
Chris "Mad Dog" Russo isn't a fan of the Eagles' season opener in Brazil being played on Peacock.

The NFL’s partnerships with streaming sites continues to grow with the league looking to attract a younger audience. Peacock showed the AFC Wild Card game last year between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins. The league also announced that Amazon, which streams Thursday Night Football, will have exclusive rights to a Wild Card playoff game in January, 2025.
