However, Barkley then jokingly attempted to recruit Jason Kelce back onto the field, suggesting he didn’t have to settle for just watching. This playful banter came after Jason Kelce announced his retirement earlier in the month, following a thoughtful decision-making process and an emotional press conference.
Barkley’s move to the Eagles marked the end of his time with the Giants, who drafted him in 2018. Giants owner John Mara expressed disappointment over losing Barkley but acknowledged a respectful exchange with the running back after it became clear he would be moving on.
