While Bill Belichick enjoyed a successful 24-season tenure with the Patriots and achieved numerous Super Bowl victories and AFC titles, Steve Belichick worked on his father’s staff in various roles from 2012-2023.
Steve Belichick ultimately joined Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff at Washington after his father left the Patriots. Fisch is the new head coach for the Huskies, replacing Kalen DeBoer, who led the team to a national championship game appearance before joining Alabama.
Steve Belichick is now the defensive coordinator for the Huskies and is thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a defense independent of his father’s influence. Meanwhile, Bill Belichick, despite interviewing for the Atlanta Falcons job, did not secure a head coaching position for the 2024 season.
There are rumors that he might pursue a television gig with ESPN.
Steve Belichick, on the other hand, is ready to make his mark as a successful coach in his own right. He has been a part of three Super Bowl-winning coaching staffs and hopes to add a college championship to his resume at Washington.
Washington Huskies DC Steve Belichick on the differences he has with his dad, Bill:
“I got a job and he doesn’t.” 😂😂

Despite the humor in his response about having a job while his father doesn’t, Steve Belichick acknowledges his father’s mentorship and looks forward to being himself as he works with his players and recruits at Washington.
Fans reacted as follows.
i'd think the main difference is the 6 superbowls and the fact nobody remembers where he went 😭 football families are something else
