The Los Angeles Clippers clinched a narrow victory over the 76ers in Philadelphia, winning 108-107 in a game marked by a controversial ending. The drama unfolded in the final seconds when the referee’s uncalled Paul George’s defence of Kelly Oubre Jr.

With just 8.8 seconds left, Oubre attempted a drive to the basket but was met with a vital block from Kawhi Leonard. Following a jump ball, the Sixers gained possession with 5.1 seconds remaining. In the closing play, Oubre drove towards the hoop and encountered George, who attempted to block his shot but made contact in the air. Oubre released the shot despite the collision, but Leonard blocked it as the buzzer sounded.

The contentious ending led to Sixers coach Nick Nurse disputing the referees’ decision and requiring restraint from the sidelines. Crew chief Kevin Scott later acknowledged that a foul should have been called on George upon review, admitting that George’s slight movement towards Oubre warranted a foul call.
