The Carolina Panthers may have finished in last place last season but with a solid new head coach in Dave Canales the team will be hoping to turn it around.
The HC has a knack for turning around the fortunes of quarterbacks, just ask Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield.
He will be looking to do the same magic on 2023 number one overall pick Bryce Young, who had a poor start to his career.
Carolina is looking to give Young the right weapons by trading for receiver Diontae Johnson, who, along with Adam Thielen will provide stability and experience.
“Yeah, well, I’ll say this: I mean, I think everything was stacked against him last year, unfortunately,” Thielen said. “And I’m not gonna get into detail as to why that was, but I’m just really excited for him to have a fresh start, an ability to have a good coaching staff that’s gonna put a good plan together to help him be successful, and also to put people around him to help him be successful.”
Speaking on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football he further said, “So with that being said, I think what he really showed is his maturity over the year,” Thielen said. “I think his ability at times to just be very honest in front of the room and say, ‘Hey, this is what I’m not doing very well, and this is what I need to get better at and please hold me accountable,’ I thought was really impressive for a young guy.”
The Panthers have also spent significant sums on their offensive line splashing out on Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis.
Youngs, the former Crimson Tide sensation can only grow from his rookie season and excitement is starting to build in Carolina.
