“It’s called the car wash for a reason” Dan Patrick Advises Caution to Jason Kelce on ESPN Offer

The former seven-time Pro Bowl and Super Bowl champion center of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jason Kelce, had earlier announced his retirement from his eminent career. He is also co-hosting “New Heights” podcast with his brother, the Kansas City Chiefs, two-time Super Bowl champion, tight end, Travis Kelce.

Kelce had finished his entire career with the Eagles squad and it was prominently known that if the center retired, he would be called in by several networks. With his extensive understanding of the game and amazing persona, many networks have approached the former player as well.

Several networks have made attempts to acquire the future Hall of Famer for Monday Night Football and former ESPN’s Dan Patrick thinks that he might not be a good fit for it.

Patrick mentioned via Awful Announcing, “You don’t just come in and do Monday Night Countdown. There’s so much more they’ll ask you to do. It’s called the car wash for a reason. You go in and you’ll be on this show and this show and this show and this show. You’re at their demand. Troy Aikman has to do things with the mothership where he didn’t have to do that when he was with FOX.”

Patrick continued by saying that he had a similar chat with Charles Barkley when he was thinking about joining ESPN. Patrick continued, “Charles Barkley asked me about it and I said ESPN is not the place for you because I want to hear Charles one time. I don’t want it to be watered down that you’re hearing it three or four times over the course of the day. If you go to ESPN you have to really be geared up to, ‘I really like being on TV. I really like being on radio. I really like doing somebody’s podcast.’ If Jason Kelce is interested in that, that could be the place for him. I wouldn’t advise him to go there because I think he’s a unique voice right now and I would want to have one place where I could hear him.”

The illustrious sports personality has further suggested valid points if Kelce decides to go that route. However, the former Eagles center will probably have plenty of other options to sift through as well before he comes to a conclusion.
