Miguel Rojas comments on Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s story about Rojas not waking him up for team meeting

After Jazz Chisholm Jr. claimed Miguel Rojas failed to wake him up for a team meeting, Rojas responded with a light-hearted dismissal, stating, “It’s not on me.”

The incident came to light when Chisholm Jr. shared his story, expressing his surprise that Rojas hadn’t roused him from his nap for the crucial meeting.

Rojas, however, seemed unfazed by the accusation, likening it to a parent-child scenario, where the responsibility falls on the individual.

Rojas was quoted saying, “That’s like my kid yelling at me, saying, hey, you know what? I had school this morning at 8:30. Why didn’t you wake me up? Well, shit, you got an iPhone, right? It was my job, but when I was 18 years old, to get myself up, too.”

The veteran Marlins infielder also questioned the protocol of having to wake up teammates for meetings, stating, “Is it protocol to have to go wake up your teammates if they’re sleeping through a meeting? I don’t. I don’t even remember that happening, to be honest with you.”

When asked about his reaction to Chisholm Jr.’s comments, Rojas remained nonchalant, stating, “That clip surprised you? Hearing that? Nothing surprised me about. About what? What it was.”

Rojas’ response reflects a laid-back attitude towards the incident, suggesting that in the world of professional sports, individuals are expected to take responsibility for their actions and commitments.
