Top spot in the NBA Western Conference up for grabs with Thunder, Nuggets and Timberwolves within striking distance

Top spot in the NBA Western Conference is going down to the wire with three teams neck and neck.

The Denver Nuggets lead with a 51-22 record while the Timberwolves and the Thunder both have identical 50-22 records.

All three teams have lost 22 games this season.

In fourth the LA Clippers, 45-27, seems like they will have to settle for fourth spot and a lower seed in the playoffs.

The Thunder next take on a tough assignment against the Phoenix Suns while the Nuggets and Timberwolves face off in a potential conference decider.

If Minnesota and the Thunder win, then by the end of the weekend there will be a three-way tie atop the division.
