Analyst Justin Termine proposes Houston Rockets’ Jalen Green as no. 1 pick in hypothetical redraft

Amidst the Houston Rockets" recent resurgence in the NBA, fueled by a 10-game winning streak under head coach Ime Udoka, attention has turned to the team"s rising star, Jalen Green.

Despite facing adversity due to injuries, particularly to key player Alperen Sengun, Green has emerged as a pivotal force in the Rockets" playoff push.

While Green"s scoring output has seen a slight dip compared to his rookie season, currently averaging 19.8 points per game, analysts believe he has significantly elevated his game this season, contributing to the team"s promising trajectory under Udoka"s leadership.

In a recent discussion on SiriusXM NBA Radio, analyst Justin Termine raised eyebrows by suggesting that if a redraft of the 2021 NBA Draft were to occur, Jalen Green might be selected as the top overall pick.

“I can see [Jalen Green] maybe going one overall, right now, if you did a redraft," Termine remarked.

In the original 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham was selected as the first overall pick by the Detroit Pistons.

However, Termine argues that Green"s consistent health and impressive performances over the past three seasons may warrant his selection over Cunningham in a hypothetical redraft.

Cunningham has faced injury setbacks during his NBA career, contrasting with Green"s durability and growing impact on the Rockets" roster.
