The Pro-Bowl veteran running back of the Miami Dolphins, Raheem Mostert, had one of the best seasons of his career in 2022, where he rushed for 891 yards and posted five touchdowns in 16 games.
He had started 14 games in the 2022 season and was inactive for one game. He had 181 carries through the games he played. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, the veteran running back highlighted the significance of his physical stature, he had mentioned, “I focused on strengthening my shins and lower extremities. I also felt like I needed to get a little bigger and I adjusted my sleep pattern a little bit to make sure I was getting the proper rest. I think it’s helped me because I’m feeling good.”
In the 2023 season, the prominent running back started 15 games and was inactive for two games. He posted 209 carries for 1,012 yards, including 18 touchdowns, and 25 receptions for 175 yards, including three touchdowns.
He set single-season team records with his twenty-one total touchdowns and eighteen rushing touchdowns. In the last campaign, he was the league’s rushing touchdowns leader as well. He led the league and became the first player from the Dolphins squad to achieve that since 1972.
The running back also became the AFC Offensive Player of the Week and in the postseason matchup against the Chiefs, he posted 8 carries for 33 yards. He joined Fred Taylor as the only other player in league’s history to earn Pro Bowl honors at 31-plus years of age, as per the Miami Dolphins. Mostert also became the second-oldest player in the league’s history to rush for 1,000 yards for the first time in his active career. The veteran running back had also rushed for 1,000 yards in a season since 2006, becoming the first Dolphins player to do so.
With the Dolphins squad, the veteran running back achieved incredible heights and inked multiple records as well. His contract with the squad has recently been extended with a novel two-year deal worth up to $9.075 million, as per NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
