Raheem Mostert a prominent player in the National Football League (NFL). Beginning his career in 2015, Mostert the running back (RB) emerged with his noticeable rushing abilities on the field despite the limited attempts.
Besides his exceptional on-field performance, Mostert also plays an unparalleled role off the field.
In an interview with SportsKeeda, Mostert revealed his primary role within the Miami Dolphins team.
As the oldest among his fellow running backs, Mostert perceives his leadership duty through actions more than words:
“I’m the elder of the running backs room,” “It’s my job to be a solid role model for the young guys,”
Despite all the rumors about the Dolphins adding an extra veteran running back, Mostert stays calm in the face of uncertainty, always ready to take the lead.
“I try to lead by example. Pro football is a business, and I aim to teach the young guys to treat it as such,” he said.
Hence, it’s hardly shocking that amidst ongoing reports and offseason speculation about potential roster adjustments for the Dolphins, including the imminent addition of a seasoned running back, Mostert remained true to form, unfazed by the roster uncertainties swirling around him.
According to ESPN, an agreement was reached to restructure Mostert’s contract, adding another year to his existing deal, the team announced Saturday.
This adjustment guarantees Mostert’s position in the Dolphins team through the 2025 season. The new contract sees Mostert securing a hefty $9.075 million.
Since his addition to the Dolphins’ roster, Mostert’s performance has exceeded his previous seven-year-long NFL statistics.
With over 1,903 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns, he’s certainly left a mark in the Dolphins’ history.
Signed initially in 2022, Mostert achieved career-best stats that year with an impressive 891 yards on 183 carries.
The following year, he broke his records, hitting 1,012 yards and an impressive 18 rushing touchdowns, the highest in the league.
Mostert’s achievement of 21 total touchdowns in 2023 is yet another franchise record he holds.
Mostert and last season’s rookie sensation, De’Von Achane, are projected to share the load this season.
Their combined speed creates arguably the NFL’s fastest running-back tandem.
