Jung-hoo Lee of the San Francisco Giants had recently made his debut in Major League Baseball and with that, he scored his first big-league home run.

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, Lee mentioned, “I would like to say ‘thank you’ to Ha-Seong Kim. Because all the advice and all the experiences that he felt first coming into the major leagues have been helping myself out a lot.”

Ha-Seong Kim and Jung-hoo Lee both played for the same team, Nexen/Kiwoom Padres. Kim played from 2014 to 2020, whereas Lee was with the club from 2017 to 2023. Recently, they both had dinner together last Thursday.

Lee further mentioned, “It’s a new feeling. Different color of jersey, different clubhouse. I’ve been watching Ha-Seong Kim play in the major leagues through the television, now I see him on the field at the same time. So it is for sure a new feeling.”

The five-time KBO League Golden Glove Award recipient, Jung-hoo Lee, was selected by the San Francisco Giants and has commenced his novel season with them.

During the match against the San Diego Padres, Lee hit his major league first big hit and the ball was caught by one of the Padres fans, who shared that they admire and love Ha-Seong Kim who joined the club in 2021. Lee responded through an interpreter and mentioned, “I’m going to tell him about you.”
