Julian Edelman knows the legendary Tom Brady better than most. There is always a special connection between quarterback and wide receiver and when you spend 10 seasons together, that bond grows stronger. Together, Brady and Edelman won three Super Bowls. That, however, was not enough for Brady.
In a video that is circulating on social media, Edelman opened up and shared a fascinating story about Brady’s competitive spirit. In 2014, the two players were training together and before the season even began, the quarterback had his eye on the ultimate prize. When Edelman told Brady that they were going to help him surpass Joe Montana’s record of four Super Bowls, Brady was unimpressed.
“He looks at me with that golden stare…and says, ‘I’m not going for Montana, I’m going for Jordan,'” said Edelman.
Tom Brady's goal was to always win more rings than Jordan, Joe Montana’s 4 rings where never a problem in his eyes:

Keep in mind that in 2014, the California native had won just three Super Bowls and was a long way off of Jordan’s record of six championships.
Brady proceeded to win the 2014, 2016 and 2018 titles to win his sixth Super Bowl, before adding another with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes currently has three championships under his belt alongside Troy Aikman and Earl Morrall. Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana both finished their careers with four titles. No quarterback is anywhere close to Brady, who retired with 7 rings.
