Jake Cousins, 29, brings with him a mix of major and minor league experience. Last season, he posted a 4.82 ERA in 9⅓ innings across nine relief appearances for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Additionally, he showcased his talent in the minor leagues, recording a 3-2 record with a 6.35 ERA over 29 relief appearances split between Triple-A Nashville, Sugar Land, and the Arizona Complex League Brewers.
Following his tenure with the Brewers, Cousins found himself on waivers, eventually landing with the Houston Astros.
Despite this stint, he remained primarily in the minors before signing a minor league deal with the White Sox in December.
Cousins impressively also displayed promise during spring training, boasting a 1.29 ERA across seven appearances for Chicago.
Jake Cousins shares more than just a surname with NFL quarterback Kirk Cousins.
In a tweet dating back to June 14, 2017, Kirk Cousins publicly congratulated Jake on being drafted by the Washington Nationals, saying “Congrats to my cousin".
