Clyde Edwards-Helaire has re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year contract for the 2024 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Sigh.
We already know what Clyde can do and it's nothing special.
Why not bring in another RB and see what they can do?

Edwards-Helaire was chosen by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
He had a promising rookie season, accumulating 1,100 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns. However, injuries and the emergence of Isiah Pacheco in 2022 caused Edwards-Helaire to drop down the depth chart.
The Chiefs declined his fifth-year option, but he still contributed to their Super Bowl LVIII win with 411 yards from scrimmage.
In his career, Edwards-Helaire has recorded 1,845 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, as well as 89 receptions for 765 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Chiefs also had running back J.K. Dobbins for a visit but it’s unclear if the Edwards-Helaire signing will affect their pursuit of Dobbins.
Edwards-Helaire is expected to resume his role as a backup to Pacheco and has likely signed for a modest contract.

I happy about this tbh. He looked good as the RB2 behind Pacheco. He shined when he got his chance.

All of our players are Champions, they know what it takes to win rings and the more we get back and keep off other teams the better.

retaining Clyde Edwards Helaire provides continuity for the Chiefs describing him as the starter until midway through 2022 overlooks potential competition and the team's evolving roster dynamics.
