The Chicago Bears have the No. 1 overall pick and their selection of USC superstar and Heisman Trophy winner quarterback, Caleb Williams, is highly anticipated.
The Bears traded quarterback Justin Fields, which further increased the potential that the squad would select a top-notch quarterback. However, the Bears also have another shot coming to them with a selection of the No. 9 pick.
According to the Chicago Bears, the squad has two major opportunities in the upcoming NFL Draft, which is stated to be conducted on April 25th-27th with the selection of both No. 1 and No. 9 spots. As per Larry Mayer of ChicagoBears.com, the franchise has received this chance to select two top 10 prospects for the first time in forty-five years.
The head coach of the Bears, Matt Eberflus, regarding the No. 9 pick mentioned, "Having that No. 9 pick is a really good spot to be in. It"s right there at the top. We"re going to get a ‘blue" player there, for sure. What we"ve done in free agency allows us to be flexible, to really be able to take the best player, one we feel fits us in that spot."

The general manager of the Bears, Ryan Poles, shared this earlier during the NFL owners meeting regarding the No. 9 pick and that he and the staff will be discussing. He disclosed, "I like the numbers in terms of the talented players that can get to nine. We"re going to do some cool things when we get back, kind of break into teams. One team is going to talk about [why] the tackle position is the best to go after, [why] the receiver"s the best, [why] the defensive end"s the best and use factual information to spit that out—and we"ll have a debate in terms of what"s more impactful for our football team, short-term and long-term."
The head coach shared that they will assess all the prospects before committing and the opinions of the individuals and clarity in communication would matter as well.
