The Iowa Hawkeyes recently defeated the LSU Tigers in the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight with a concluding score of 94-87. They now enter the Final Four and will next face the Connecticut Huskies.
"I don't need to be seeing her drop 50 on us next weekend. I love her. I think she's the best player – forget that I ever said Paige was the player in the country. I think she's the best player of all time" 😂

The Hall of Fame basketball coach, Geno Auriemma, of the UConn women’s basketball team, shared his opinions before their next match against the blazing Hawkeyes. He mentioned via SI, "I hope that Caitlin Clark had a personal agenda against LSU. And I know there"s nothing personal between me and her, so I don"t need to be seeing her drop 50 on us next weekend. I love her. I think she"s the best player…forget I ever said Paige [Bueckers] is the best player in the country. I think [Clark]"s the best player of all time."
The head coach, who has been named Naismith Coach of the Year eight times, highlighted last year’s match between the LSU Tigers and Hawkeyes. In the recent defeat of the Tigers, Clark posted 41 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds in under forty minutes.
The UConn Huskies defeated the USC Trojans and are attempting to win a national championship for the first time; however, the Iowa Hawkeyes have now taken the reins and are spearheading their games with impressive performances.
The head coach is now hoping that there is no additional incentive for Hawkeyes superstar Clark to make another big performance, which would subsequently diminish the chances of Huskies achieving feats in the NCAA Tournament.
Clark had mentioned via ESPN that she admired UConn and wanted to be recruited by them. She shared, "Honestly, it was more I wanted them to recruit me to say I got recruited. I loved UConn. I think they"re the coolest place on earth, and I wanted to say I got recruited by them. They called my AAU coach a few times, but they never talked to my family and never talked to me."
Kristin Meyer, who was the coach at Dowling Catholic High School, also shared that many universities wanted to acquire Clark but Geno’s team was not one of them. She mentioned, "Geno never came". However, the anticipation for the upcoming match will be high as Clark will face the team she admires.
