As the NBA regular season draws to a close, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum took a moment to reflect on the team’s journey and the lessons learned from previous seasons.
“Where you’re at this year is obviously a little different where you’re at last year. Just what do you think is the biggest difference, though? Trying to close out this regular season strong and going to the post,” Tatum remarked.
"I think last year we were so antsy to get back to the Finals… we may have took some things for granted."

Reflecting on the team’s performance last season, Tatum pointed out that they may have been overly eager to return to the NBA Finals, leading to lapses in focus and effort during the final weeks of the regular season.
“I think last year we were like so antsy to just get back to the finals that we had a few bad losses in the last few weeks of the season. We went to six games in that first round that we didn’t. We may have took some things for granted,” Tatum explained.
However, Tatum expressed confidence in the team’s growth and maturity this season, noting their improved consistency and focus as they approach the playoffs.
He credited the team’s collective effort and commitment to learning from past mistakes, emphasizing their determination to maximize their potential and achieve success in the postseason.
