Kansas City Chiefs’ Rashee Rice Involved in Dallas Expressway Accident: Latest Updates and Statements

The Super Bowl champion wide receiver of the Kansas City Chiefs, Rashee Rice, has found himself involved in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Dallas Central Expressway.

Rice had reportedly leased the Lamborghini Urus that was involved in a collision with a Chevrolet Corvette. Both cars were street racing and consequently, the crash also involved six other vehicles. Multiple individuals sustained injuries, and two were admitted to the hospital.

The fact that Rice was the lessee was confirmed by attorney Kyle Coker, who represented the company, which was a Dallas-based luxury car rental company that owned the car. Coker shared with NBC 5 that “Classic Lifestyle leased the vehicle, the 2021 Lamborghini Urus that was involved in this accident. And we had an agreement with Mr. Rice in order to provide that lease. And under our contract, it was supposed to be the only one driving vehicle.”

He further continued, “In the past, Mr. Rice had rented at least several vehicles. There were never any driving citations or accidents related to that. The issue that we have right now is we’ve got a totaled vehicle, and we haven’t heard back as to who’s going to pay for that vehicle. And I understand, there’s, you know, kind of speculation back and forth as far as who’s driving. It doesn’t matter. I mean, we’re looking for accountability and to make sure that our business is made whole here.”

The attorney representing Rice, State Sen. Royce West, stated in a statement that his client was assisting the local authorities and that his thoughts were with the individuals who were unfortunately affected by the incident.

West mentioned via the Associated Press, “will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.” The Police also mentioned that both the drivers of Corvette and Lamborghini Urus were speeding and lost control of the vehicles and Lamborghini hit the center median wall, causing a domino effect of collision.

Mark Donovan, the president of the Kansas City Chiefs, also shared with KCMO Talk Radio’s and mentioned, “In all these situations you have to wait until you have all the facts, and frankly, we don’t have all the facts at this point.”

Rice, a native of North Richland Hills, was one of the most prominent wide receivers at Southern Methodist University and was selected by the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft in the second round as the 55th pick.
