Alabama’s Mark Sears is a point guard compared to Jalen Brunson in terms of playing style and physical attributes.
Sears, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, possesses similar skills and abilities as Brunson.
“Alabama’s Mark Sears is a Jalen Brunson clone. As a left-handed, 6-foot-1, 185-pound point guard, Mark Sears looks like Jalen Brunson, moves like Jalen Brunson, and plays like Jalen Brunson.”

Both players are excellent shooters from beyond the arc and display adept finishing skills around the rim.

Although Sears showcases more agility than Brunson did in his previous school, Ohio, Alabama’s emphasis on layups and three-pointers limits his opportunities in the midrange.

Brunson’s success in the NBA has heightened expectations for Sears.
If Sears performs well in upcoming games, particularly against UConn, it could significantly bolster his draft stock.
However, considering the lack of offensive options on his team, struggling is also a possibility.
Despite his scoring ability, Sears excels in passing, defense, and leadership, making him a well-rounded prospect.
If he can achieve even half the success of Brunson, he has the potential to have a fruitful NBA career.
Fans reacted as follows.
Except he doesn’t post up and he’s quicker

Jalen Brunson is a lot better than Sears and I like Sears. Brunson can actually go to his right however

Both Sears and Brunson showcase a remarkable blend of skills on the court. Its fascinating how individual players can mirror others, highlighting the diversity of talents in the basketball world. This comparison sheds light on the uniqueness and familiar patterns we often find in…

Is it just me or does everyone else see how the shooting form and handles are EXACTLY ALIKE to Brunson’s. This is wild

All I see are catch and shoot/step-back 3's. Where's the footwork, the vision, the screen plays, the start and stops, etc. Not saying he's bad by any means, but where's the Brunson similarities in this clip?

I’ve been following the draft closely, draft coverage, etc for 15 years now and I say rather confidently that there is no one worse at draft analysis that gets paid to do it, than @KevinOConnorNBA

Cap, just cause he little and lefty I don’t see anything he does like brunson , brunson was posting wings up cut it out.
— Bobby Brown (@PactownPimpin) April 1, 2024
I don’t see it. Jalen releases his shot higher and at the top of his jump giving him that ability to have a lethal mid range game. Sears has to get a lot more space than Brunson does

Love Mark Sears but somewhat concerned he has more Sharife Cooper in him than Jalen Brunson
— Sean Barnard (@Sean_Barnard1) March 31, 2024
Brunson is one of a kind, lots of teams make mistake of taking a player thinking they’ll reproduce as well as some comp but it rarely pans out.
