The two-time AEW World Championship winner, WWE professional wrestler, actor, and former mixed martial artist, CM Punk, has recently shared his thoughts regarding the All Elite Wrestling press conferences.
The AEW organizes press conferences where owner and president of AEW, Tony Khan, and other prominent show members address questions from reporters. The conferences provide insight for ardent fans who want to see more of their favorite wrestling superstars.
During one of the episodes of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Punk mentioned, regarding the press conferences, "Those things are really cringe. Like, it’s pro wrestling. I did one the day I came back [to AEW in 2021], I was like, ‘Well this is a big deal. I get it.’ But the problem you have with pro wrestling is anybody with a Twitter calls themselves a reporter or a journalist or whatever and I experienced it firsthand. The amount of misinformation that came out based on that."
He further continued, "Just the amount of lies and bulls*** and it feels a little bit good to say that a lot of it is lies and bulls***. The people that don’t like me based on that stuff they don’t like me anyway they are not my audience anyway."
In 2022, Punk went on a scrum and shared his grievances and the opinions he had considering his issues with the organization and some of his co-workers. Unfortunately, due to that, the wrestler got involved in a fight against AEW executive vice presidents Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
