The insider information was made public by Ian Rapoport, a well-known NFL Network Insider. Blackmon is ranked 35th on Gregg Rosenthal’s top 101 free agents.
The talented safety, also the second-highest remaining free agent before signing back with the Colts, will strengthen the critical secondary players’ lineup.
Blackmon is not the only player the Colts have prioritized this year. The team has already entrusted their defense lines to safety Ronnie Harrison and cornerback Kenny Moore II.
Moore recently posted a picture on social media with Blackmon, which excited fans further about the Colts solidifying their secondary.
First drafted by the Colts in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Blackmon hit the ground running.
His rookie season was remarkable with two interceptions, six passes deflected, and a forced fumble in the 15 games he played.
Although a torn Achilles in his sophomore season limited his gameplay, his recovery in 2022 was commendable with one interception registered.
