The Buffalo Bills General Manager, Brandon Beane, disclosed on Wednesday that there wasn’t a single underlying motive for the trade of Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

He further affirmed that careful consideration was given to ensure the deal would serve in the best interest of the franchise overtime.

“You don’t want to get into every reason you make every move. It’s not one thing,” Beane said. “You weigh the pros and the cons with every decision like this. We don’t take it lightly. But we’re always making moves in the best interests of the Bills.”

Although rumors suggested a tense relationship between the player and the team, Beane tactfully sidestepped any stirring controversies.

“I genuinely value everything he contributed to the team. His tremendous effort played a crucial role in clinching four divisions for us,” Beane expressed his admiration for Diggs’ contribution on the field.

The Bills reportedly declined several trade proposals for Diggs. However, the Texans’ offer seemed timely and met their valuation.

Houston traded their 2025 second-round draft pick to Buffalo for Diggs, a 2025 fifth-round pick, and a 2024 sixth-round pick.

“It’s not the first time we’ve been called to ask, would we move him?” Beane said

Diggs joined the Bills in 2020. In his first year with the team, Diggs led the NFL with 127 catches and 1,535 yards.

Throughout four seasons with the Bills, he earned 5,372 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns.
