“An honor to be able to play at one club” Philadelphia Eagles Shore Up O-Line By Securing Jordan Mailata To Three-year Extension

The Philadelphia Eagles have retained a key piece of their talented offense after securing Jordan Mailata to a long-term contract that will secure him to the organization through the 2028 season. The offensive tackle recently agreed to a three-year, $66 million extension to remain in Philadelphia. The contract includes $48 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.

Mailata has been with the Eagles since being selected by the organization in the seventh round of the 2018 draft. The Australian initially started as a rugby league professional but has had tremendous success since making the switch to the NFL.

Injuries held him back during his first two few seasons but the powerful lineman made an instant impact when he made his debut in 2020. Over four seasons with the Eagles, he has gone on to play in 62 games and has become a regular starter in the lineup. He was also a member of the 2023 team that went all the way to the Super Bowl.

Mailata is excited to remain with the organization and spoke about potentially ending his NFL career with the Eagles.

“It is an honor to be able to play at one club. I’ve always wanted to be a player that has played for one team and there are so few that get to do that,” said Mailata per NFL.com. “To be a part of history and be a part of the club and the culture that we are trying to continue to build is an honor. I am very grateful to the organization.”

With the loss of center Jason Kelce to retirement, the Eagles will be looking to shore up their offensive line to protect quarterback Jalen Hurts. Securing Mailata to a contract is a good first step. The Eagles also hold the no. 22, 50 and 53 overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, and could add another offensive lineman.
