Dalvin Cook Asserts ‘I’m Still That Guy’ After 2023 Season Setbacks with Jets and Ravens

After joining the New York Jets in the summer of 2023, Cook’s voyage encountered an unexpected storm when Breece Hall’s resurgence led to Cook’s relegation to a backup running back role.

As a consequence of these changing tides, Cook’s statistic line reflected a meager 67 runs, accounting for a total of 214 yards until being released late in the season.

Following his departure from the Jets, Cook found an opportunity with the Baltimore Ravens.

Cook was integrated within the Ravens’ practice squad and his presence indeed invoked a glimmer of resurgence in a crucial playoff victory against the Houston Texans.

He may have been limited to eight runs for 23 yards, but his contribution nonetheless proved vital for the historic match.

However, Cook was side-lined during the AFC Championship Game, arousing debates about his probable future within the NFL.

Despite the rough 2023 season, Cook’s determination seems unscathed, evident in his extensive training regime in Houston.

He came forward this week to reassure his consistency in the game.

Reminiscing about his impressive record of four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Cook expressed his belief that he remains the same player.

“I’ve got it all,” Cook said, via Aaron Wilson of KPRC. “The tools are still here. I didn’t really get no reps last year. So, the legs are fresh, so the resume speaks for itself. I’m still Dalvin Cook. I’m still that guy. For me, I don’t like to toot my own horn. I just like to go out there, put my helmet on and line up on the grass.”
