According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, there is “optimism” in the Los Angeles Lakers camp regarding star player Anthony Davis’s availability for Tuesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, despite suffering an eye injury during Sunday’s matchup.
Davis incurred the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, subsequently being ruled out.

The Lakers forward played 12 minutes before exiting the game, contributing four points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Notably, fellow star LeBron James sat out Sunday’s game due to flu-like symptoms.
While Davis has maintained relative health this season compared to previous years plagued by various ailments, he recently suffered a left eye contusion during a game against the Golden State Warriors on March 16.
ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that Davis experienced significant swelling and impaired vision after an inadvertent hit while driving to the basket.
Earlier in the season, Davis also missed time due to hip and Achilles injuries, which have troubled him since November.
Despite the setbacks, Davis has delivered a solid performance throughout the season, averaging 24.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.4 blocks in 64 games, shooting 55.5 percent from the field and 28.0 percent from beyond the arc.
However, the Lakers have faced challenges in the competitive Western Conference, currently holding the ninth spot with a 45-33 record.
