At Fiserv Forum, the Bucks suffered a disappointing 122-109 loss to the Knicks, facing their longest losing streak of the season, and have dropped six of their last seven.
On the bright side, they clinched a playoff berth despite the loss and remain a game clear of the Knicks (46-32) and the Orlando Magic (46-32) for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are a game ahead of the Knicks and Orlando Magic in the race for the Eastern Conference’s No. 2 playoff seed, behind the Boston Celtics.
Jalen Brunson was unstoppable for the Bucks and scored 43 points on 32 shots, including eight assists, he is averaging 37.2 points in five games against the Bucks this season. Donte DiVincenzo added 26 and Isaiah Hartenstein had 16.
Brunson shared,
“I don’t know. The ball goes through the hoop against them. I’m averaging 37, but we’re 2-3 (against the Bucks). Before tonight, we were 1-3. So no matter what the points were, we weren’t getting wins. Tonight, we found a way to win the game. Their game plan was working for the first three of four games.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Bobby Portis came off the bench to score 28. Damian Lillard had 23 points, 14 of which came on free throws.
Giannis Antetokounmpo said earlier.
“We’re not a losing team. We don’t have that mentality. That’s not in us. This is the first time we’ve lost four in a row since 2021. This is not what we do. We’ve got to be better.”
