Detroit, a city passionate about its Lions, doesn’t seem to be embracing the UFL’s Michigan Panthers with the same fervor.
As the Panthers kicked off their 2024 UFL season with two home games, the turnout has been underwhelming. Week 1 saw attendance at 9,444, while Week 2 saw an even lower figure.
Detroit loves its Lions. The UFL's Panthers, not so much. https://t.co/X7sSne39E2

According to Mike Mitchell of SI.com, only 7,475 fans showed up for the Week 2 game against the Birmingham Stallions.
With another home game on the horizon next weekend, the Panthers will have only two more home games over the final seven weeks of the season.
While Week 2 wasn’t kind to attendance across the league, St. Louis stood out with over 40,000 attendees. In contrast, the combined total attendance at the other three locations hosting games was just 31,318.
The D.C. Defenders managed to draw more than 15,000 fans, while Memphis fell short with fewer than 9,000 attendees.
This presents one of the significant challenges for the UFL’s latest professional football venture in the spring: getting people to show up.
The league awaits to see if the strong debut of last weekend extended into the second week.
