The Pittsburgh Steelers’ star tight end Pat Freiermuth recently discussed the developing chemistry he’s working on with his quarter-back Russell Wilson.
Their on-the-field relationship is promising to be a great combination for the 2024 NFL season, based on what they did in San Diego recently.
Both Freiermuth and Wilson were reportedly working out and throwing routes together in San Diego recently.
Freiermuth told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk: “I was just down there in San Diego with him working out and throwing routes,” Freiermuth said via Around The 412. “He’s been great at talking to guys and starting to build that connection. He’s a great guy. You can tell the drive and determination that he has to win and come to Pittsburgh and win some playoff games for us. I think he is going to fit our culture and locker room very well.”

The intensive workout sessions in Southern California were not just limited to the Steelers’ dynamic duo. Wide receivers Calvin Austin and Van Jefferson were part of these training sessions as well.
Russell Wilson, who now dons the black and gold, was released from the Denver Broncos just a month ago in March.
Steelers then proceeded to sign a one-year agreement with him, thus beginning Wilson’s journey in the Steel City.
In addition to Wilson, the Steelers also included Justin Fields from Chicago Bears to their quarterback room.
Head coach Mike Tomlin feels confident about his team, allocating Wilson a “pole” position, potentially as the leading QB for the 2024 season.
Despite a 2023 season overshadowed by injuries, limiting him to only nine games, Freiermuth managed 32 receptions for 308 yards and two touchdowns.
The second-round pick in the 2021 draft is healing well and looking to establish a strong comeback in his contract year of 2024.
