“I think Will does a really good job of staying true to who he is” Titans HC Brian Callahan content with QB Will Levis’s progress as a leader

The new head coach of the Tennessee Titans, Brian Callahan, has recently expressed positive opinions regarding the quarterback, Will Levis. Levis played nine games last season and took over the squad when Ryan Tannehill got injured.

Both the head coach and the offensive coordinator, Nick Holtz, have expressed their satisfaction with the approach Levis has followed, considering the offseason. As a leader and as a player, Callahan has disclosed that he wants Levis to stay true to his abilities and capabilities.

The head coach has also seen how Levis has been unique in his ways and regarding the talented quarterback, he shared via The Tennessean, “Just from what I’ve seen so far — I’m still learning Will every day that goes on — but he’s got an intensity and an intent every time he walks in the building. I think you see that in his play. When you watch him play you see that intensity, that fire that he’s got. That’s not manufactured. That’s how he is … He’s very determined to improve his game. I think if you have that part you have a chance to do a lot of really cool things.”

The head coach also mentioned, “You can’t make people do anything that’s outside of their character, it doesn’t come across as genuine. I think Will does a really good job of staying true to who he is. I am not gonna ask him to go be anybody that he is uncomfortable being and I need Will to be the best version of himself. “

He further continued, “He’s got a job to do as leader of the offense, as leader of the football team, and I think he understands that and that’s the biggest part is understanding what your role is. You have to be visible, people have to see you, you have to be sure you’re building the same relationships that I have to build as a head coach. Pleased with his demeanor, his actions as he started the offseason program. But really excited about where he is headed in that role.”

Levis was picked up in the 2023 NFL Draft in the second round as the 33rd pick and Callahan has shown optimism for Levis ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
