Incredible record broken as Boston Celtics become first team in NBA history to finish a game without a single free throw

The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks created unique NBA history during their recent game. The Celtics did not attempt a single free throw throughout the entire game, which included all 10 players on their roster.

Jayson Tatum, the Celtics’ star, commented that it was just another day in the NBA and speculated that the lack of free throws may have been a way to prepare for the playoffs.

The Bucks, on the other hand, only shot two free throws, both of which were taken by Giannis Antetokounmpo before he suffered a calf injury and left the game.

The combined total of two free-throw attempts from both teams is the lowest in NBA single-game history. There were only 12 fouls called in the game, with eight on the Celtics and four on the Bucks.

The officiating crew, including Marc Davis, Bent Taylor, and Danielle Scott, will go down in history for their involvement in this record-breaking game.

This surprising record occurred between two teams known for their free-throw attempts, with Antetokounmpo leading the league in free-throw attempts. Complaints about reduced foul calls have become a trend in the NBA late in the season.

The Bucks and Celtics made history by combining for only two free throw attempts in a game, with the Celtics becoming the first team ever to not shoot any. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks made one of the two attempts in their 104-91 win.

Brook Lopez, the Bucks center, admitted he was not aware of the record-breaking feat during the game. Previously, the Memphis Grizzlies (2014) and Atlanta Hawks (2018) held the record with one free throw attempt.

The Bucks’ four fouls on Tuesday were the fewest in NBA history. This surprising record occurred in a game involving teams with high free throw attempt rankings, such as Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Jayson Tatum.

Notably, fouls seem to have decreased across the league towards the end of the season, as observed by Lillard.
