He shared more information in his second post which stated, “It’s a 5-year, $150M deal that includes $88M in guarantees, sources say. A monster deal for a big-time player.”
The linebacker with the deal has become the third-highest paid defender in the league, tailing behind Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs and Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers.
Allen was picked up in the 2019 NFL Draft in the first round as the 7th pick and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the last campaign, the linebacker broke the organization’s single-season sack record and registered 17.5 sacks and 33 quarterback hits.
With the squad he has registered throughout five seasons, 45 sacks, 53 tackles for loss, nine forced fumbles, and two interceptions. Allen had mentioned his positive opinions at the Pro Bowl as per SI via Jamal St. Cyr of WJXT4, “Of course I want to be in Jacksonville. You know, I have a chance to leave a legacy behind. And you know, that’s something I wanted to do. I wanted to be with the best defensive player to come out of Jacksonville. And that’s everywhere that I go so I got a great opportunity to finish what I started. You know, but at the end of the day I know what comes with the business side of it. So, you know, whatever play out, play out. But, you know, I’d love to be back.”
Along with career high sacks, Allen also posted 17 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and an interception in his last NFL campaign.
