“People don’t give a s***. I just don’t think they give a s***,” Scott Van Pelt’s Bold Take on PGA-LIV Golf Drama

In a recent conversation on The Dan Le Batard Show, Scott Van Pelt, a well-known golf commentator, threw light on the ongoing drama within the golfing world.

Van Pelt said that the rivalry and lobbying between the two leagues have faded, and the once-buzzed-about PGA-LIV merger controversy is no longer a point of interest for golf enthusiasts.

He unapologetically voiced that fans "no longer give a s***."

"I feel like it’s a non-topic," Van Pelt said. "It’s amazing how that has changed, in the sense that there was a very clear line in the sand. It was us against them … [and now] it just feels like the entire ‘us against them’ fight is no more. It feels that we’re headed toward some conglomerate of sorts, they just have to figure out the money. So I just don’t think LIV vs the PGA Tour exists. When Rory, who was the Jon Snow drawing his sword, ready to fight all comers was like, ‘We probably have to figure all this out,’ your most staunch advocate for the fight laid down his sword. So I just don’t think it’s a topic of conversation."

"People don’t give a s***. I just don’t think they give a s***," the SportsCenter host said. "All they want is to see the best players in each event, and they get that starting Thursday (at the Masters). So it just doesn’t feel like a topic. I have no appetite for it, because once the PGA Tour was like, ‘we’re going to do this,’ it’s over. It’s not, but that fight feels over to me."

The commentary rings particularly true as influential athletes from the PGA Tour, including Rory McIlroy, have opted to downplay the dispute.

As professionals began turning the volume down, fans and reporters alike seemed to follow suit, also reducing the spotlight on the conflict.

The muted dispute contrasts with the excitement around the players themselves. During the last year, LIV golfer Jon Rahm emerged as the Masters" victor.

For this year"s betting favourite, renowned PGA player Scottie Scheffler is in the running. All eyes are now on PGA"s mainstay, Scottie Scheffler, who enters this year"s Masters as the betting favorite.

Fans eagerly wait to see if he will carry PGA"s flag to victory, thereby tipping the scales in their favor.
