“Multiple guys that we are in love with” Minnesota Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah Keeps Open Mind With Talented QB Class Offering Plenty of Options

NFL teams are preparing for one of the best quarterback draft classes we have seen in years. Several teams are jostling for draft position to ensure they get their man. The Minnesota Vikings recently parted ways with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins and speculation is swirling that the organization could be in line for a trade to move up the draft ladder.

The Vikings are in a unique situation. They currently hold the no. 11 and no. 23 selections in the 2024 draft but some mock draft have as many as four quarterbacks going in the top five picks. That would mean a trade would likely be in order to get a premier quarterback.

Per Pro Football Talk, Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah insists his team will be diligent and pragmatic as draft day approaches.

“I think there’s multiple guys that we are in love with just on an outright basis. But there’s other guys we’re in love with given what, if we get them at a certain value, what they’d also be able to come with,” said Adofo-Mensah.

The third-year GM gave up very little about Vikings strategy and resisted confirming the team would trade up to get their man.

Minnesota does have a lot to offer an incoming quarterback. 2022 Offensive Player of the Year Justin Jefferson will return to the lineup in 2024. That combined with receiver Jordan Addison and running back Aaron Jones provides plenty of weapons for a young quarterback.

USC’s Caleb Williams is a shoo-in for the first pick this year with the Chicago Bears expected to select the 22-year-old. Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy are all expected to go in the top 10. If the Vikings miss out on those players, they could find value in Oregon’s Bo Nix or Washington’s Michael Penix Jr.
