The NBA’s involvement on the lingering ownership dispute considering the Minnesota Timberwolves will be unlikely, as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver reportedly shared, as per Front Office Sports.
The NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, has recently stated that the league has no intentions to intervene in the situation. The majority owner, Glen Taylor, has removed the Timberwolves and WNBA’s Lynx from the market.
Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez are the minority owners who have been involved in the dispute. The majority owner also claimed that both Lore and Rodriguez missed the deadline considering their purchase of the majority ownership of the team.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is staying out of the bitter fight for control of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore's disputed sale deal with owner Glen Taylor is now moving to mediation.
“There is no role for the league in that process,” says Silver.

According to FOS, Silver shared, as per Athlon Sports, “It’s not clear whether there will be a role for the league to get involved. There’s a dispute now in the purchase agreement and in their purchase agreement they, in essence, pre-agreed to a dispute resolution mechanism that includes mediation and arbitration. That’s where it stands. There is no role for the league in that process.”
He further mentioned, as per Front Office Sports, “It’s certainly not ideal to have a stepped transaction like this. It met our rules from that standpoint, and it’s what Glen Taylor wanted and it’s what they were willing to agree to at the time. But I think once the dust clears on this deal, it may cause us to reassess what sort of transactions we should allow.”
In accordance with the conditions of the initial sales agreement, the matter is now headed toward settlement. However, both sides have strong opinions. Rodriguez, has recently shared to The Athletic, that he and Lore are “not going to let go” and that “it is now personal”.
