Rodgers feared career-ending Achilles

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently reflected on his “wild year,” admitting that he had dark thoughts after suffering a season-ending Achilles tear.

Speaking on the “I Can Fly” podcast, Rodgers expressed his initial fear that he wouldn’t be able to come back from such a significant injury.

However, he also revealed that the trade to the Jets reignited his passion for football after 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Despite experiencing highs like running out with the American flag during pregame introductions, his Jets debut quickly turned into one of the worst moments of his career as he was carted off with a season-ending injury.

Rodgers tried to make a comeback later in the season but was unable to due to the team’s lack of contention. He is expected to participate in OTA practices next month, marking his return after almost seven months of recovery.

The quarterback also opened up about asking for help after the injury, admitting that it was difficult for him. Despite the heartbreak of the injury, Rodgers emphasized the positive experiences and personal growth that occurred during his recovery.

He credited his rehab team, including his physical therapist and chef, as well as the lessons he learned along the way.
Looking ahead, Rodgers expressed his excitement about playing again and the love he has for the game.

He mentioned his desire to play for another two to four years.

Additionally, Rodgers confirmed that he was a finalist to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election, a revelation that came after Jets owner Woody Johnson spoke about it in an interview.

Johnson expressed confidence in Rodgers’ return to football and stated that he never truly left the sport.
