The Cleveland Browns Stick With 4x Pro Bowl RB Nick Chubb for 2024 Season Under Reworked Contract

The Cleveland Browns and Nick Chubb have agreed to reworked his old contract and the star running back will remain with the team in 2024. The 28-year-old Georgia native will earn a lower salary of $11.775 million next season with additional income based on incentives, per NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.

Several high profile running backs have been on the move this season with Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Aaron Jones, D’Andre Swift and Derrick Henry all finding new teams. The Browns, however, have decided to stick with Chubb and chose to renegotiate his deal instead of moving on from the four-time Pro Bowler.

When healthy, Chubb is considered one of the NFL’s elite running backs. Unfortunately injuries have limited his time on the field in recent seasons. Last season, Chubb went down with a knee injury early in the season and managed just two games and 28 rushing attempts.

Chubb has played his entire NFL career with the Cleveland Browns and was drafted by the organization in the second round of the 2018 draft. Over six seasons, he has featured in 77 total games and amassed 6511 rushing yards, 123 receptions and 52 total touchdowns.

The Browns finished with an 11-6 record last season and with a healthy Chubb alongside quarterback Deshaun Watson, they will be looking to reach the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1989.
