Wyndham Clark optimistic about catching up to Bryson DeChambeau at Masters

Wyndham Clark made his competitive debut at Augusta National Golf Club in the 2024 Masters and finished with a 1-over 73.

Despite an 8-shot deficit to leader Bryson DeChambeau, who is part of the LIV Golf league, Clark remained confident, noting that they have 54 holes to play, just like in LIV Golf.

Clark acknowledged that better performance on the par-5s and making a few putts could greatly impact the outcome.

Augusta National’s challenging conditions, including strong gusts of up to 30 miles per hour, posed a challenge for all players.

Clark played alongside Viktor Hovland and Cameron Smith, who both scored under par.

Clark emphasized the importance of improving his performance on the par-5s and making putts. Despite some setbacks, he felt his game was in good shape.

Clark mentioned that playing the 2-under par hole 8 could have made a significant difference. He played four practice rounds leading up to the tournament in perfect weather conditions.

However, the gusty winds during the competitive round made putting difficult. Clark expressed his belief that there is still a lot of golf left in the tournament and that he has a chance to make a comeback.
