For many golfers, winning the Masters is the ultimate dream. Tyrell Hatton, an English golfer, has consistently performed on the PGA Tour and European Tour, with seven victories under his belt. Despite being ranked as the 19th-best player in the world and having better odds than some past champions, Hatton doesn’t fancy his chances at Augusta.
In a humorous interview with Sky Sports, Hatton was asked about the likelihood of another Englishman winning the Masters after Nick Faldo and Danny Willett. He said bluntly, “You shouldn’t ask me; I’ve got no chance.” The interviewer then turned to former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick for a more optimistic perspective.

Despite his self-deprecating remark, Hatton’s recent performance in the LIV event in Florida, where he finished T4 and his team won, suggests he shouldn’t be underestimated. However, he’s also known for his temperamental behavior on the course, as evidenced by a recent NSFW rant picked up by microphones. Perhaps dismissing his chances is a strategy to stay calm and focused ahead of the Masters, avoiding any outbursts that could jeopardize his participation at Augusta National.
