Scottie Scheffler seems unstoppable in his quest for a second Masters victory, but his world No. 1 ranking may take a back seat if his wife Meredith goes into labour. Despite being a top contender, Scheffler has clarified that family comes first and that he will leave the tournament immediately if needed.
Scheffler, who shot an impressive bogey-free opening round, is just one stroke behind the leader, Bryson DeChambeau. However, he has stated that he will prioritize being with his wife for the birth of their first child, even if he’s leading the tournament. He also mentioned that he cooks breakfast in the morning nowadays.

While Scheffler remains focused on his golf game, he admits that he and Meredith are somewhat underprepared for parenthood. Nonetheless, he is ready to drop everything and be by her when the time comes.
Despite his professional success, Scheffler credits his wife for keeping him grounded. He acknowledges that winning tournaments doesn’t earn him any special treatment at home and values the support he receives from Meredith.
As he continues his Masters campaign, Scheffler’s dedication to his family remains unwavering. He tees off for his second round alongside Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy, but his focus will always be on being there for his wife when she needs him most.
