San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk, traversed the path from familiar football grounds to the floors of an Applebee’s restaurant.

Donning huge fake glasses and adopting the alias ‘Gerald,’ Aiyuk served the customers as a waiter in an episode of the Whistle series “Undercover Athlete.”

It happened that Aiyuk teamed up with Applebee’s to promote their new ‘Whole Lotta Bacon Burger.’

Graduating from his usual football gear to a waiter’s apron, the 26-year-old received a day’s training from his manager before taking on his exciting new role.

As he delivered food and drink orders to diners in his new role, Aiyuk skillfully maintained his undercover status.

However, his celebrity could not stay hidden for long as sharply-eyed fans soon figured out that the waiter was none other than their beloved 49ers wide receiver.

Diners were excited to realize that “Gerald” was actually Aiyuk, and promptly asked for selfies.

Amidst all the excitement, some noticed the hidden cameras and figured out that their entire adventure was being recorded for the captivating “Undercover Athlete” series.

Aiyuk’s Applebee’s stint ended triumphantly with a special Employee of the Month accolade from the staff, adding a comedic and memorable conclusion to the episode.

While he was playing restaurant waiter, Aiyuk and the 49ers have been in the midst of a turbulent off-season.

Disputes over a contract extension have put them at odds, with Aiyuk allegedly voicing his resentment about his current predicament with some veiled social media updates.
