The NL West competitors once again saw tension flare in a recent matchup at Dodgers Stadium when Los Angeles Dodgers’ Gavin Stone nearly hit Jurickson Profar of the San Diego Padres.
According to MLB, Profar threw a 92 mph fastball that came close to Profar’s upper body. Profar immediately took notice, looked at Stone, and then had some words exchanged with Dodgers catcher Will Smith.
However, the tension was soon noticed by the players on the benches and they were cleared. One of the replays showed Manny Machado rushing from the bench and he was among the first players to come out onto the field.
Before reaching his destination, he was busy chewing some sunflower seeds, which was noticed by both Joe Davis and Eric Karros, who were calling the game for Spectrum SportsNet LA.
"Manny gonna make sure he gets that one more thing of sunflower seeds. This is high intensity. I always see that in a boxing match or MMA fight."
"I picture the old WWE tag teams. Right before you take a tag, flipping the sunflower seeds." pic.twitter.com/CCHHWpCzV8

Karros shared, “Manny gonna make sure he gets that one more thing of sunflower seeds. This is high intensity. I always see that in a boxing match or MMA fights. Let me eat some sunflower seeds before I go out there.”
To which Davis added, “I picture the old WWE tag teams. Right before you take a tag, flipping the sunflower seeds. Let’s go.”
During the altercation, there was no physical fight which broke out between the two teams. The matter after exchanging some words, subsided and the game continued.
