“Rehab has been going great,” Phillips said, via Adam Stites of USAToday.com. “I’m just attacking it every day and I’ll definitely be back healthy for the season and — God willing — stay healthy for the season.”:
Jaelan Phillips, Miami Dolphins’ defender, suffered a devastating torn Achilles injury during the team’s Black Friday victory over the Jets, which has put his 2023 season on hold.
This injury arrived in the fourth quarter of the game in what appeared to be a non-contact situation.
Coming into last Friday’s matchup, he was in the midst of a career surge with an impressive 5.5 sacks.
Phillips’ performance prior to his injury was on track to set a career-high mark, surpassing the 8.5 sacks he achieved as a rookie in 2021.
In addition to this, he had also racked up 29 total tackles and an interception.
