Portland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton expressed his satisfaction in finally being able to showcase his abilities, stating that his recent performance reflects the talent he has been striving to demonstrate throughout his career.
Deandre Ayton is happy he finally had the opportunity to showcase his talents
“What I showed you guys the second half of the season is what I've been trying to show my whole career.” 👀

Ayton had previously attributed his early season struggles to not having a bed and sleeping on an air mattress. Despite facing obstacles upon joining the Trail Blazers earlier this season, he has now displayed the potential that the team had envisioned when they acquired him from the Phoenix Suns.
Ayton emphasized the importance of having support and the ability to surround oneself with the right people. In his last four games, Ayton has been averaging 29 points and 16.8 rebounds, showcasing a significant improvement compared to earlier in the season.
Fans reacted as follows:
From 17/10/1 on 59% fg last season in PHX to 16/11/1 on 57% fg in Portland.
What is bro going on about😭😂

couldn’t even do good numbers on a bad team pic.twitter.com/RQjDExXjYa

He showed literally no improvement from his second season in the league

Same dude who claimed he couldn’t get a mattress for months as a millionaire 😂😂😭

Bro u were so bad in phoenix u just gotta stop this man
— Curryglazer (@myglorious30) April 15, 2024
The man has averaged a double double his whole career.
While also playing majority of the season each year. You dudes need to start watching games instead of reading X/Twitter narratives

Facts he balled out. Crazy the Suns got rid of him for Nurkic 💀💀💀
— Jokic Burner (Soon to be B2B NBA Champions) (@MikesMajorTakes) April 15, 2024
That was his standard? Was barely impressive.
— RJ Trader (@rj_trading1) April 15, 2024
What did you show us exactly ? 💀💀
— HARDINI🪄 (@jhardini12) April 15, 2024
Reading is fundamental yall he averaged 23/12 on almost 60% shooting post all star break

I mean these are great numbers for a center so he’s not wrong pic.twitter.com/QO9CnURnV6

Ayton's long awaited breakout highlights the importance of patience and perseverance in sports.

Same dude who “missed the game because ice was in his driveway”
— Zac (@CatchCount_ZC) April 15, 2024
he is def a great mid range shooter and can rebound. with a small attitude adjustment he could be a great player
— DanSangermani (@dsangermani1) April 15, 2024
These kind of comments ring hollow the team loses 20 of 24 to end the season. There’s a multitude of players who put up good stats on bad teams. And I say this as an Ayton supporter. I want him to be amazing but his end of szn doesn’t prove anything yet.
— Dylan Nelson (@DatDudeDylan) April 15, 2024
Lol dude plays good for the last 10 games of the season when the team is obliterated from playoff contention and thinks he did something. Overall stats are worse than last year and he had the opportunity to show up and show out for a team and coach that could really have used…

Go look at his season stats. He hasn’t changed! Yes he has POTENTIAL to be GREAT, but he chooses more days off than being DominAyton. Wish him all the best, but he’s not what he claims to be. At least not until he decides to be all-in! pic.twitter.com/O4oTxqOwVc

As a Suns fan…I agree. CP3/Monty were terrible to Ayton. I’ll never forget a game when Ayton started w/ 10 points on 4-4 shooting and didn’t even get a chance to attend another shot for the rest of the game. DBook also wanted to go Kobe mode all the time.
— FaLucci Anthony (@GxxdGxd_) April 15, 2024
Tbf he did have pretty good numbers in the last 20-30 games, but also had extremely poor games against centers like Jokic, AD, Chet, and Gobert. They're obviously great guys but I think he has like 21/18 in those 4 games combined. With his contract value, those games can't happen
