Peter Schrager Mock Draft: Here’s What The Top 10 Looks Like According to NFL Network’s Analyst

The NFL draft is just nine days away and mock drafts tend to flood in at this point of the year. Few experts have the knowledge and information that NFL insider Peter Schrager has access too. Schrager is usually quite diligent with his approach and that may be why he has waited until a few days before the 2024 NFL Draft to release his mock draft 1.0.

Schrager has the Chicago Bears drafting University of Southern California’s Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, which at this points seems like a foregone conclusion. That, however, is where things start to get interesting.

The veteran analyst believe the next three picks off the board would all be quarterbacks with LSU’s Jayden Daniels, North Carolina’s Drake Maye and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy going second, third and fourth, respectively. If that turns out to be the case, it would the first time in the history of NFL Draft that four quarterbacks are selected as the first four picks. On five occasions, three quarterbacks were drafted in the top five (1954, 1971, 1999, 2021, 2023). In three prior draft classes, the first three picks were all quarterbacks (1971, 1999, 2021)

The Los Angeles Chargers hold the fifth pick and Schrager believes newly appointed head coach Jim Harbaugh will opt for star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Arizona Cardinals will also select a wide receiver in Washington’s Rome Odunze to add a weapon to their roster for Kyler Murray.

Joe Alt is projected to be the first lineman off the board with Tennessee looking to bulk up their offensive line.

Dallas Turner, Malik Nabers and Brock Bowers round out a talented top 10 list.
