“I lost my Super Bowl ring” – Eagles veteran Jason Kelce misplaces his Super Bowl ring in chili pool during live “New Heights” show

Jason Kelce, the recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center, infamously lost his Super Bowl ring in a vat of chili during a live recording of his and his brother Travis’ podcast, “New Heights”.

It all happened at a University of Cincinnati stop for the “New Heights” show.

As part of the on-stage antics, the Kelce brothers set up a competition where participants had to dig through a pool of Skyline Chili, a Cincinnati specialty, to find a sock containing a prize.

Here’s where it got crazy. There were actually two pools. One contained replica rings, while the other, unbeknownst to the contestants (and apparently Travis himself!), had the real deal – Jason’s Super Bowl LII ring tucked away in a sock.

Things got messy (literally) as the competition devolved into chili-flinging mayhem. In the chaos, Jason’s actual Super Bowl ring went missing.

Despite a search the next day, which even included a metal detector, the ring remained unconquered by human intervention.

“There was an unfortunate-ness, as you guys know, this game existed because I continuously lose my Super Bowl ring, and I don’t even know if Travis still knows this, but I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event,” Jason said on “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday.

He added:

“They could not find it… All of this stuff has been thrown away so I think we can safely assume my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill someplace in the Cincinnati-tristate area. I didn’t think that would happen.”

Jason continued:

“Somebody at some point messed with my Super Bowl ring, which I’m fine with, I mean, it’s just a hunk of metal and I’ll just have another one made, I think? They can do that right?”

Jason Kelce was a key part of the Philadelphia Eagles’ historic Super Bowl win in 2018. The Eagles entered the playoffs as underdogs. Starting quarterback Carson Wentz went down with a season-ending injury in Week 14, leaving Nick Foles to take the reins.

Despite the unexpected situation, the Eagles rallied behind the “underdog” mentality. 2017 was considered Kelce’s best season. He played every game of the regular season and was rated the highest-rated offensive lineman in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, a respected analytics company.

The Eagles faced off against the New England Patriots, led by the legendary Tom Brady, in Super Bowl LII. The Eagles emerged as winners with a score of 41-33. This win marked the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl title. Following the win, Kelce became a fan favorite for his epic victory speech during the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade.
