As the recent NBA Play-In Tournament saw the Golden State Warriors bow out to the Sacramento Kings, the focus swiftly shifted to the future of the team.

Head Coach Steve Kerr voiced his desire to retain 19-year old veteran point guard and expected future Hall of Famer, Chris Paul, for the upcoming season.

Speaking to ESPN"s Marc J. Spears, Kerr was openly optimistic about having Paul back on his team for another season.

"Chris has been fantastic, not only on the court but the leadership. He is one of our best players. I love coaching Chris [Paul]. I really hope we bring him back next year," Kerr said.

With Paul’s $30 million salary non-guaranteed until June 28, the Warriors are faced with a significant decision.

It appears unlikely that they will retain the player without reworking his contract. However, there"s a slim chance that Paul may find a new home.

A franchise in a title race, in need of a competent point guard and veteran stability, might be open to trading for Paul.

Despite being in the twilight years of his career, Paul has shown no signs of stopping. He has recently stated his intent to continue playing, regardless of the team he represents.

The high probability is that Chris Paul will grace the basketball court for another season. The only uncertainty remains around the colors he will be donning.
