The Jaguars could not repeat their late season heroics of 2022 as last season faded into obscurity.
Jacksonville were all set to top the AFC South after going 8-3 but only one win on their next six allowed the Texans top spot.
The Jags started their preseason season training this week and linebacker Foye Oluokun believes the team will rapidly move on from their dismal end of 2023 campaign.
“I think it’ll fuel us,” Oluokun, a former Falcons player, told the team’s website.
“Everybody’s committed to doing things right this time around. We don’t want to get in that position again and it starts from the first game all the way to the last – just keeping improving every week no matter where the scoreboard is, keeping our standard every week. Sometimes you win games that you didn’t play your best in. You don’t learn from them if you’re not trying to get better. I think that kind of happened to us and we’re not going to do that this year.”
The Texans and Titans have had a busy off season while the Colts have remained most of their team from a solid base last season, especially with the return from injury of quarterback Anthony Richardson.
