The Philadelphia Eagles introduce an exciting new chapter as Cam Jurgens boldly steps up, preparing to fill the sizeable shoes left by Jason Kelce’s retirement this offseason as the team’s new starting center.
Despite the pressure, Jurgens is maintaining a cool, composed attitude, emphasizing that there is no need to stress about stepping into Kelce’s shoes.
“At the end of the day, I just have to be myself,” Jurgens said, via Chris Franklin of NJ.com. “I’m not trying to be somebody’s replacement or somebody’s next person. I’m just trying to be myself and asking myself if I can be the best football player I can be, and wherever position they put me, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m not worried about anything besides what I can control, and I think that’s all I have to worry about at the end of the day.”

Jurgens’ transition hasn’t been without its challenges as he mentioned to reporters on Wednesday.
The change has been somewhat “weird,” admitting to a few awkward moments of heading to the wrong locker.
However, the youngster is taking it all in stride, displaying an impressive resolve to acclimate to his new responsibilities.
Having started at right guard last season, Jurgens was already considered a significant talent. Garnering increasing attention, he was eyed as Kelce’s prospective successor as early as his draft in 2022.
